I made thread holders like this one for our recent Guild Quilt Show. They were fun and easy to make.

That is really cute! What a great idea! For Girl Scouts one time I had a similar idea for "Recipe" holders, but I love the thread and scissors holder. You could add a little pin cushion or little magnet to use for needles and pins.

Love them both. I made a similar one for my sewing machine by using a wooden banana stand to start with. I am able to do hand sewing during my breaks from work and always have stuff scattered (in the way) on my desk. I am going to try to make one like this one for hand sewing. Very clever idea and so pretty and handy! Thanks for sharing.

What a great idea! These would be great to sell at craft shows. I will have to put it on my list to do.

How very fun and functional they are! I have a very old wooden one my friend bought me at a quilt show some 15 years ago that I still use while hand sewing on my bindings. They are lovely and I hope you did well with them at the show.

bibi 03-22-2014 02:15 PM

Very talented indeed!

Yours are much sweeter than the ones my DH made.
