Where did you get all those happy faces? and how did you fasten them on? |

I found YEARS of "stash" there, plus the quilt blocks I had made for my then 6 year old son. He designed it, I appliquéd them. There was his tennis racquet, his dearly beloved Doberman, his giant Monarch butterfly that he and his Dad had collected, his favorite book, etc. They were all lovely and I'm going to finish them since I have found them again. I'm sure he will love it when it's finished...even though that in this coming month of May, 2010, he will be 42 years old. Sigh...I'm usually much quicker to finish things than that. I thought. Can't wait to search through all the boxes that were in that closet. |

I love the cascade of daisies! That's sooooooo cool looking

I was thinking I would like to raid your UFO stash.. its been there a while you might not even notice. I think they are marvelous. I love how the flowers from the sashing cascade down the front of the second quilt and the hearts are too precious on the first one!

Thank you all for all your nice comments. You sure know how to make a quilter feel good.
I will look through my UFOs and see if there might be anything any one would like to finish. I may even have some things finished that I have no use for, and can't even imagine why I made them in the first place. I will post in the classified when I get them out. maybe can find homes for some of them. |
Wouldn't it be fun if we could shop in each others sewing rooms and exchange projects. It would all be new to us, looking at everyone else's stash and not cost a penny!

Perfect! I love that cascade of daisies!!

It was some old cloth that I made a skirt for my daughter with. But, I saw some the other day in wall-Mart. So, they still sell the smiley faces. I actually hand stitched all 73 of them on, because, I got my sticky paper too hot and some were already beginning to come off.And because I know if it ends up in the nursing home laundry they're going to get brutal with it. So stitching was a good thing. I actually like to hand stitch.
