three wall hangings in progress

I'm making narrow, long wall hangings to go next to my front door. I haven't had time to get any done for a while now so I'm doing one for October and November combined and then December and January. I really like how they're turning out. I still have to tack down the top of the ribbons on the ornaments and fuse the snowflakes down. I'll also add some snowflake buttons to the snowflake one after it's quilted.

I really like how they're turning out.

So awesome! Are you using patterns? If so, can you share the names of them? If not, are you using the the Accucut (I think that is what it is called) system where you purchase the die and then run it through a machine?

Thanks for sharing.

I have a narrow window beside my front door facing the East. I've been contemplating an idea like yours. Thanks for sharing...they are very nice.

I searched for coloring pages for the leaves and clip art for the snowflakes. Other than that they're my patterns and designs. For the ornaments I just grabbed a round thing the right size and for the drop ornaments I folded the paper in half and cut out the right shape.

This is kind of a fun series to do. I picked a size and for each month I do whatever but it has to be that size. Mine are 8.5 x 24.5 finished. The only one that's a little different is the February one and that's because it was made for a class sample so it's a little wider and not as long.

Measure your hanging space and pick a size. Then just work within that size every month. Mine are also sized so I can hang them with an unsharpened pencil. I just put a square folded on the diagonal in each top corner when I do my binding and when the binding is done they're ready to hang.

Thank you,
A wall hanging that narrow would still hang properly without batting? I've used the diagonal fold in each corner before. Thx for reminding me.

They'll look really great! I have a nice space going to the basement that really cries for a long narrow wallhanging. You've given me inspiration :) Donna

I usually use Quilter's Dream Poly in my wall hangings because it doesn't get fold lines as bad as cotton battings seem to.
