Your grandniece looks angelic.
I do not have a story to tell about quilts, since I am the first in the family who started quilting 4 years ago. I am originally from Nicaragua. The weather over there is like the weather in Hawaii, hot and humid. For sure we do not use quilts. I am very happy to do them. So far I have done them for my 5 children and 9 grandchildren, plus my mom, some friends. etc. etc.

Here is a larger picture of the quilt. Last year I decided to copy her pattern and make one myself, but I didn't hand quilt it like she did. I will have to find the pictures of the one I did. It took me months to find out the name of the pattern, but I finally did. It is called Ozark trail, which makes sense because she was from Missouri.

Great quilt...No heirlooms for me..my family were travellers, the women knitted/crocheted and did needlework, but even now, my mother sells most of what she makes (old habits die hard). I am the first and only quilter, but who knows, maybe one day I may have grandchildren to teach.
