Your Tie Quilt is a Master Piece. I wanted to honor the men in my church so I asked them to donate all the ties they were not wearing anymore. The wives were happy to get rid of them and I ended up with over 1000 ties. Even my Pastor donated a few. Now I know what to do with them. Thank you. And again yours is beautiful. :D

how clever! great Father's Day gift too! :D

This is really beautiful, what a great idea this would be for a "manly" quilt.

I have a book called Botsfords Daddy's Ties. All the quilts in it are for experienced quilters, I think. Could you post the directions for the fan quilt? I, as a beginner, may be able to do that one. I have way over 1000 ties and I need to get something done with them. I did make a purse with some and gave it away. If I can contact the person, I will take a pic and show you.

MikkiG, the quilt was made from a pattern by Fons and Porter in their book "Quick Quilts from tne Heart." It is called Fancy Fans. I hope you can get the book and make this quilt. It was a lot of fun to do.

I looked for the book at Fons and Porter and it is now discontinued. :(
Will have to watch for one on Ebay or something. |
