Hehe my husband has been known to sit and drink half a gallon of milk and a whole package of Chips Ahoy.

OH MY GOSH. Glad that you realized it BEFORE THEY got tossed. LOL

luvTooQuilt 09-19-2011 08:07 PM

And now you have a great reason to buy cookies !!

( as you can see 2 bags already eaten and one UN-opened bag here.. )

Think we eat alot of cookies ??

kristen0112 09-19-2011 08:08 PM

WOW what a great tip. You should send that to Fons & Porter - if they like it and air it you'll get a one year subscription to their magazine!!!

leatheflea 09-19-2011 08:14 PM

I havent bought a bag of cookies in years, and I mean years, lets see about 4 or 5 years. I might "need" to buy some now! but my fave was oreo. Will they work?

luvTooQuilt 09-19-2011 08:18 PM

debbieumphress 09-19-2011 10:11 PM

If they smell like chocolate too, double bonus. What a great idea. Thanks for suggesting it. HUSG♥♥

PATTIESPEARL 09-19-2011 11:05 PM

I can not remember the last time I ate a cookie. My Doctor fusses all the time for me to leave off the high starch foods and sugars. I know now why I have a headache all the time, My Halo fits too tight!!!

Izy 09-19-2011 11:42 PM

Good thinking Batman! I love ways of re-using packaging!

Sadly we don't get those here in the U.K. BUT I will be choosing our biscuits now depending on whether the packaging is suitable or not!  :D

Lacelady 09-20-2011 01:09 AM

Hm, I don't eat those, in fact I don,t think they are here, but you have given me an idea - perhaps After Eight mint boxes would do the same job.

They also hold GFG pieces very well.

ladypetite 09-20-2011 05:41 AM

Awesome! An 'excuse' to buy cookies!

NanaCsews2 09-20-2011 05:46 AM

We go through enough cookies too, and I never thought of that. Could be because DH is usually the one to empty the cookie package when he shoves plenty in a baggie for his work lunch, then throws the package on the counter instead of in the garbage. So I see the package, get miffed because he once again didn't open the cabinet door BELOW the counter and throw it away himself. Next time I see that I will have visions of your Chips Ahoy fabric squares. There yah go. You can make a quilt and call it Chips Ahoy!
Gonna take your idea and use it soon! And thanks for the visual, too early for cookie eating but will for sure be scrounging cabinets to look for some later. hee hee

Melinda in Tulsa 09-20-2011 06:52 AM

What a great idea! I throw those away all the time, as DH LOVES cookies. I will have to start saving them now. (More junk to save, LOL)

Crafty1 09-20-2011 06:55 AM

Great tip! Now I'm going to go out and buy some :) Thanks

mzmama 09-20-2011 08:26 AM

Oh man, now I got to go buy cookies.

SUZAG 09-20-2011 08:28 AM

Great idea...time to go buy cookies!

Marvel 09-20-2011 09:42 AM

Chips ahoy do not last long here either. Thank you for the tray tip. I have always wondered what I could do with these. Now I can pass this on to my quilting friends.

bearisgray 09-20-2011 10:36 AM

Excellent idea.

Luscious Marilyn 09-20-2011 01:45 PM

I have done the very same thing with the empty plastic container, it's perfect for storing 2 & 1/2 inches hexagon squares, that tray is full, so now I need another plastic tray...where's the cookies!!!
