Beautiful C! It's such a sypathetic treatment of a vintage top - really demonstrates how a skilled LAer can enhance such a beautiful piece and that the modern can sit alongside the traditional in perfect harmony. But you do know that there's a pink flower on the right of your first pic that isn't stippled, don't you? :-D

Gorgeous quilt and you're right. The flowers do pop.
|
Gorgeous quilt and quilting. How did TJ stabilize it so that you were able to quilt in center of flowers?
|
The quilt and quilting is absolutely divine! I'm wondering why no one has entered your quilting in a show - it would surely take 1st place, Grand Prize.
|
Beautiful quilt, and the quilting makes it POP!

I have been wanting to make one of these quilts for long long time. Just never get at it. It and the quilting is beautiful. I can only wish I could quilt like that. Great job to both!!!

I have looked longingly (and lovingly) at many of the tops you have quilted. Never saw an ugly one yet. But, for some reason, this one just sings to me. I think it is my favorite.
The top maker and the quilter did a fantastic job together. |

Does anyone know the name of this block. I'd love to make one. I really am taken by those little oval leaves in the block spaced around the yellow center. I'd love to try my hand at this one if someone has the name of the block. I've never seen it before. Thank you.

That is one beautiful quilt and the quilting just adds to its beauty

Beautiful! Quilt and quilting..
|
What a beautiful piece of art, the quilt is completely complimented by the quilting and vice versa!
|
The best I have been able to find out by searching online, this pattern is a variation of an amish dahlia. I was curious of the name of the pattern as well. I didn't sew the blocks myself. They were found in a box after my sister's mother-in-law passed away and I was asked to finish the quilt for the family. When I saw they were hand quilted (as I am new at quilting) I had to do what I could to preserve the blocks.
This link looks similar, but the circle is smaller than the squares I have. Good Luck! |
