Opened 3 more boxes today...more great finds. 12 blocks all embroidered, will be pretty put together. a few stains but I bet they will wash out. A ton of 3 1/2" squares, all organized and about 10 - 9 patch blocks put together. more yard goods. This is the first box that had a musty smell, so I'm going to wash these.

Awesome stuff!

I wouldn't wash all those pieces with the raw edges, you will have a MESS!! I bet if you just spread them out and spray with Febreeze and give them a little air, that musty smell will so away. St least enough that you can make them into tops.

That might work....I pink all my edges so no unravel but that is alot of pinking...I'll try your way first.

I wouldn't wash them either!

Unlike the others, I would want to wash them, I would put them in a lingere bag and very gently hand wash, actually just let them soak with an occational swish, in my bathroom sink with super gentle soap. I would lay them on a towel to dry.

I agree with this procedure!

wonderful find. If you don't want to wash, what about sealing it up with baking soda wrapped up in a bit of newspaper.

one word of caution, I looked up brown recluse spiders, and you have them in denver. I have done excessive reading on the topic, due to having been bitten. I was wallpapering, on a Saturday, about 3 yrs ago. There's a lot of toxic stuff in wallpaper paste & I didn't want to hang my jeans in my closet or on my door with my robe, so I folded them on the floor. Put them back on on Sunday, zap.

They "like" humans. Basically, we provide an environment they like. They like fabric. Commonly thought to like cardboard, it is really the fabric we store in cardboard. They like beds, and shoes, too.

Be cautious & aware. You have brought a lot of boxes and fabric home.

Other than that, have yourself some fabulous fun!
