It's a gloomy day here in North Carolina, so I thought I'd post a few laughs for everyone today. I sometimes get ideas and actually feel compelled to carry them out...Last spring I thought about buying those topsy turvy tomato hangers but decided not to because they were pricey and I'm a skinflint...I mean I'm very frugal so I cam home and created 'Tomato Pants'! I got a nice crop of tomatoes from them too! But not without some problems... The denim started disintegrating so I made some 'chaps' from some outdoor fabric and they lasted the rest of the summer! I have a similar idea this year but with improvements....
And....because I love gardening and it is sooooo hot in NC in the summertime, I created some soft cotton bras from a 3 pack of 'Granny Panties'. I know they are funny looking, but OMG they are soooooo comfy! I've had so many people ask me how to make these, I actually put a tutorial of them on my blog! about 6 weeks later....The begonias in the top got really big! How very creative! I can't imagine having it actually work, you must have a green thumb as well as being a great quilter!

LOL The pictures are so funny> I wonder how many had to stop and do a double take not believing their eyes. But I bet the tomatoes were the best you ever had, am I right?

Wow very creative! Sure wish it was nice enough here in Minnesota to start planting, the way the weather has been here, It might take until June to get started.
You are legend! and I thought I was frugal! Love the granny pants bra idea...will definitely bookmark...though don't know that granny pants are going to be "robust" enough. You made me smile....so thanks!
LOL!!!
Love the tomato pants!!! Thanks for sharing!
I will be sure to show my husband these tomato pants. hahahahaha.... am heading over to your blog to check out the grannyPanty. At 80, my mom can't stand anything tight around her ribcage, and these just might do the trick! How clever you are.
oh I will Absolutely be making these for my mom... you should consider posting this clever idea on the board in the tutorials. Do you have any tips as to how to determine the correct size underwear to buy? (although, I can just go buy some and test their fit on me.) thanks for sharing this.
