Too Darn Cold!!!

It's so dang cold, I'm risking sun fade on the backs of some quilts by hanging them over the windows. Yes, the shades are fully down & the plastic is up but it's time to break out the Tapestries. The hot pink & navy Whirligig is the only solely mine quilt, the other 3 are Blockswapper quilts. The row quilt is on the wall.

Beautiful quilts! And a great way to keep warm. Here we sit in the mid forties and thinking it's cold. We have no idea what you are experiencing. You have found a to cozy up and enjoy your work at the same time.

Beautiful quilts. You can enjoy them all during the cold snap.

You have really been busy.
Your quilts are beautiful; and I'm TOO coooooooooooooooooooooold here in Ohio, too.
Great quilts.
Great way to use your quilts……..PS - there is a film you can put on your windows that filters out the UV rays - no more fading from the sun on anything……..easily removed too...
Nice quilts.....Hope they help to keep you warm. It is a cold fall..Scares me to think what winter will be...
I would put a layer of batting between the sun and your quilt. Those are beautiful and I would NOT want to see any sun damage done to any of them !!!
Fantastic quilts; love them all!

The quilts are:

Never let it be said that quilts have to be on beds to keep us warm. At one time my son used his quilt as a drape, as well as a method to keep the sun out. No worries - I made the quilt when he was 12 and he was about 35 at the time, and that quilt went with him when he left home and when he moved back - twice. He and his sister were both boomerang kids, they left, but they kept coming back home.

I remember doing that back in the 70's and early 80's when we lived in southwest Missouri and heated with wood!
all of them are great!!!
I use quilts on the windows all the time (partly because I have very little wall space). Very little sun damage.
What a happy place. All the colors light up the place.
Lovely pieces
I also insulate my house with quilts when it gets like this. Good to look at from a different perspective and they make me feel toasty even if the thermostat doesn't say so. You've got some beauties to contemplate here. Lovely work. The red starbursts in the second quilt is just fabulous!

Those wonderful quilts should brighten up the dreary, chilly winter. Quilts are meant to be used, great use :)
