I think it would depend on what you want it for. I love both, but think that I probably would go for the black first. I don't think of it as "Goth", I would call it mysterious.

The blue you could use any time, it is vet serene. |
I would buy 3 blue and 1 black if you order them.

Among other reasons, I have found blacks generally fade faster than any other color! |
