I have been wanting a stiletto and wooden iron so I decided to make some in my hobby shop. This is what I came up with. I used the pointed end of a knitting needle for the seiletto side and made the handle/wooden iron with my lathe and a scrap piece of oak.
I like to use the wooden iron when I am doing paper piecing and opening seams on quilt blocks. the side of tool for pressing material the side of the tool for finger to press down |
Good job! id you sharpen the pointy end more?

Very clever, Barb! It's funny because I was wishing I had a little stiletto just last weekend while working on a lap quilt. Genius!

Hey you did a great job!

Neat tool!

Hey great thinking making your own tool. I like that it has a nice fat handle to work with. Just making it a two for one is so smart of you.

Very nice! Now you just need to get a patten!!

Aren't you clever  Now, why didn't I think of that  Going to have to show this to my DH so he can make me one

Very nice!! I love it!!! If you tired of it, you can send it to me!
