Tortilla Warmers
1 Attachment(s)
The YT video called these bread warmers, but in south Texas, we make lots of tacos. The 12" base square is great for practicing my free motion quilting! I keep giving them away to visiting friends and family. My aunt has backordered one!

Very interesting! What type of batting have you been using? Are you making them so that they could go in the microwave?

Look handy and cute!

Those are so cute & will come in handy for lots of things...tortillas, biscuits, bread, warm tortilla chips, etc. Thanks for the link.

https://cdn.quiltingboard.com/images/smilies/smile.png Thanks for posting the link. Do you have any tips or tricks you use when making these? I watched the video and she did a great job of showing the steps, although most of the words were in a different language.

Great Idea, I watched the video it was helpful. Even though it was in a foreign language the measurements were given and the photos showed how the curved ends were made. Then the binding was pretty easy to figure out it went on all the raw edges.

Super cute. Doesn’t look like it would take long to make? Although nothing is ever as easy as those videos!!!
|
These are very interesting! I could see me using them to not only warm breads and tacos' but even as casserole warmers when made a bit larger maybe. Thanks for sharing this great idea.

What a clever project and so useful for all kinds of warming.

Wow! These are awesome. I think I'll make a few for simple gifts. Thanks so much for posting this.

Been entertaining out of town friends at beach all week, so haven't been here!
Thanks for the wonderful comments. I use regular warm & natural cotton batting. 12 inch square for center and four 7 inch squares for flaps. To curve the flaps: I take one flap, fold in half, measure 2 inches on each side to start and stop cutting line for curve. Then, use this one as a template for the other 3. I do put them in the microwave with tortillas and nuke for 30 seconds. |
Very cute and such a nice gift for neighbor or family and friends.
