Awesome job on the medallion, glad you're still using the suggestions and patterns. They come in handy sometimes. :)

Thank you everyone for all the nice comments. I forgot to say that this quilt will be for a raffle at our USAF reunion in June...there will be my quilt & one other I haven't seen for that raffle. Hopefully they will bring in lots of money for the group...I know they will be appreciated! I have never done something like this before, so made me a nervous wreck while doing it...Just hope I don't mess up on the quilting! I have white with all those colors of stars for the backing, then will bind it in the red. I plan to just SID the medallion rounds & outline quilt the patch center. I think keeping it simple will bring out the best in the quilt. What do you think? I will do all the quilting next month. The reasoning I used for the rounds: ASAF Security Service is all entertwined (round 1), friendship stars as we are all friends (round 2), and we are all entertwined (round 3).

All of them are just wonderful. That medallion quilt is stunning! I'll bet it brings in a ton of money at the raffle.

The center exactly matches that patch. I was so lucky that my stash is what it is! Did the whole quilt (64x64)from stash...couldn't believe it. But hubby said he could!:D Anyway, the center turned out to be 24 1/2". I decided to go back to the medallion thread we did last year with Elizabrat & Jaba. I had never done a medallion quilt until I did that one with them. It was perfect for doing this quilt. So I did entertwined row, friendship stars, & again entertwined row. It's to be a raffle quilt for our reunion in June. I started working on it 3/1. Used Judy's mysterytrain #9 to use as my L/E (I always make another quilt as a L/E & so usually make 2 quilts at once--it's just the way I work.) I actually also made a scrap 2 1/2" strip flannel quilt along with these (no pic) and it will be donated to the pregnancy center next month. So, I was able to get 3 quilts done in 21 days (tops only)...guess you know where I've been for the last 3 weeks! Sewing room is a disaster area...but what's new? :D Now to get them quilted...I have a month's worth of tops that must get quilted next month...these 2, 2 for my granddaughter's graduation in June (mysterytrain #3 & HER UFO which she won't be able to finish--it was started when I taught her to sew when she was 10, now she's 18. It's foundation pieced blocks, I will finish it the "fun & done" way), and a wedding throw for a friend's son & wife. It's a scrappy front, but will have subtle wedding fabrics pieced for the back...they are renovating an old house...making something beautiful from scraps; hence the scrappy quilt. Anyway, thanks for looking..........

VickiM,
Talk about being out of your element -- it appears to me that you're totally in your element! What wonderful work you have done! I thought the same thing many years ago when I coordinated a vocational class at the local community college. I not only coordinated it, I taught a whole lot of it. The first night I was to teach, and I had 25 students in my class, and I was saying to myself, "what in the heck made me think I could do this?" Well, I stumbled through it, and every one of my students who sat for the certification examination passed at the first exam sitting. I give the students the credit, though, because they studied and prepared for the exam, not because of my teaching. The best thing I could do was to convince them to study, and I was successful in that respect! Congrats on your quilt tops. They're wonderful! Jeanette |
These Quilts are just gorgeous...wow...the one that you did for your husband is so precious and so beautiful...that is so neat. Your Quilts are just out of this world. You sure been busy lately making all of these Quilts.
