NO NO,I was in a swap and this is what I made . Its in Washington now !!
Do you all have swaps here ?? they are lots of fun . |
  Oh, I know; I'm just joshing you. It is very pretty.
Well, we've not done one to my knowlege, but you never know... :D |
On the About quilting.com board there is a lot of swaping going on. lots of fun.
Also the Garden Web has some too |
Betty, I would be interested in a link to the pattern for the tote bag. I am not too familiar with that particular site and thought you might have a short cut. I am primarily interested in the measurements and would like to make a bag very similar to the one you made. I love it, too, and know it would make nice gifts for friends.
thank you for sharing your expertise. Your bag is perfect!!! JUne |
thats pretty//I used that same white print for the lining of a jumper for my baby GD...

June , this is the link to The About Quilting web site
they have lots of swaps going on all the time . the bag swap is over but always have more come up later just keep checking . Okay , now for the design of the bag . I found the block pattern in Thimbleberries "Big Book of Quilt Blocks ". I made the block then I made the bag just by adding strips of fabric around the block . Then cut the back the same size of the bag front . Easy, Easy!! you can email me and I can see what we can do about the block ,size, bag . I love the bag too. The colors are very cheerful. But I am curious to know where in Sout Louisiana you are located. I grew up in Thibodaux and most of my family is still in town.
The bag is really pretty. If you ever have the urge to do another one, I'd be happy to take it off your hands once its done.   |
I would be interested in the measurements also. Very nice to make for yourself to
|
Vicki. I live 30 minutes from Thibodaux !!
My DD lives there . Ruth , I think its 15 x 15 I made a 12 in block and added strips of fabric around to the size you want then I quilted it to give more body to the bag . betty |
Hi Betty,
Thanks for the link!! There are a LOT of bag making instructions where no pattern is needed, listed under multiple headings. Y'all should really check it out!! :D Thanks again for sharing the info with us!! |
Betty:
I love your bag. Also enjoyed the quilt site you gave us. There is a tulip block on that site that I thought I might try to make. Thanks for sharing. Great job and your colors and workmanship made a very attractive tote. Freathers |
Thanks, enjoy the websites!!

This would make a great gift for some of my friends at the gym. Will use either a Friendship block in their favorite colors or possibly a State Block of where they are originally from.
