I made another tote bag last night, this is my third one now, and i even did pockets in this one. I was very frustrated doing it though, and am not happy with it. When i was doing my free motion quilting, the thread kept gobbing up underneath really bad. So it stayed that way, and of course with the lining nobody knows but me, but im really not happy that it did that. That's fine for a tote bag, but that means my next quilt project that might happen, and it hasnt happened on my other freemotion quilting, so another future headache i can see coming on.
But i am happy that it in spite of my problems, it came out really pretty i think. I made it as a special gift. Yesterday when i was at the doctors, our receptionist told us that she was leaving, and that today would be our last day. She is a wonderful wonderful lady, and has been so kind and caring, so i wanted to make a special gift for her. So i made this bag, and we bought her a card and some flowers, and we took them in to her today, and she was so happy :) So i'm real glad that she liked it :) |

Ohhh that's pretty!!! You did a beautiful job!!!
|
Thanks guys! :)

I love the bag, You made someone very happy. how nice of you. I'm still practicing my FMQ. After my company leaves I'm going to give it a try on real project. Yours looks great. They say thread bunching up underneath means upper thread problems. I've had a similar problem lately but it seems it is only when I'm using my 1/4 inch foot, how strange is that?

Your bag is so cute. Love the muted, light colors. All those pockets come in so handy. The lady can definitely say you have her "going green."

|
Thanks so much everyone...going to try and make some more this weekend maybe, if i can pull out of my funk...thanks you guys :)

The tote is beautiful and your freemotion is wonderful. Try rethreading your machine, top and bobbin. Sometimes that works. Did you remember to drop the feed dogs and pull up the bobbin thread? Don't ask me why I ask  You do such beautiful work.
|
Wonderful tote! Your quilting is great!
|
Oh thanks so much guys, you've just reminded me i should try and get some more made lol :)
|
Barb, your tote bag is sooo cute!! Love the quilting you did, and the pockets!!!! :D

Barb, I was practicing free motion quilting and forgot to lower the presser foot. I thought it wouldn't make a difference but the presser foot needs to be lowered. I kept getting loops under the fabric and couldn't figure out what the problem was. Hope this makes sense.
