I know these won't post in order so the blue machine is a Wizard made by brother...very heavy and has zig zag...looks like it was hardly used
$10.00 The small one is a old singer sometime in the late er 1800's not sure of the date $1.00 the one with oll the ornate decoration is a 1924 singer treadle...with a Tiger Oak cabinet. All it needs is a new belt which is ordered and the drawers were full of acessories and buttons and needles my daughter bought this for $40.00 I get to have it as long as i want it...shes a sweetheart my daughter |

The small one is a old singer sometime in the late er 1800's not sure of the date $1.00 I am fairly sure that is the machine they call the FiddleHead machine. look at the base and it looks a little like a violin.........Good find...Does it have the bobbin case? remember, to clean these old painted machines, don't use any harse cleaners....it will take the paint right off....very mild soap, |
Oh Ruth!!!! Wow how awesome!!!! I want to come play!!!! The brother is really pretty, I have never seen the blue before, love it!!!

Ruth---all three of your machines are great treasures!!! Where did you find them? I can never find old machines like this---you are so fortunate.

|
Ruth - I'm soooo happy for you!!!! They're all beautiful!!! :D :D

Its fun to buy one for a few dollars and get them to sew. I gave two of the singers to young girls who were taking a garmet sewing class with my grandaughter....she told me they both are making a lot of things at home.
Ten has been my top price. I just love old machines, but those new ones sure make sewing easy...I saw a nice serger...it had everything the book a dvd, a set of threads a case..personal notes $225. spotless a year old and it was a babylock....sigh I keep hoping I will find an embroidery machine, cheap. or how about a longarm set up...have to be under $50.....   A girl can dream |
Beautiful Machines!! And you got really great deals on them!
Congratulations! I LOVE the hand crank Singer!!! |
My oldest daughter asked me why I buy so many sewing machines. I said without thinking, cause it makes me feel good and it doesn't break the bank. I can remember wanting a sewing machine sine I was about 7....I went to my Grams most weekend so i could use her machine. I guess this must be the second childhood they talk about
|
You own these? Wow! I envy you. Sooooooooooo WAY COOL :D
|
My daughter got the treadle..otherwise i spent $11.00....you never know just do the garage sale a couple of hours on SAT :D
|
WOW! Great finds :D
|
What beautiful machines.
You are truly blessed. Enjoy your treadle. Deara |
Hi Ruth,
Do you remember the post that henry parrish posted about the singer site where you can put in the serial numbers and get the exact dat it was made? I am pretty sure it was at the singer.com site. These are really neat old machines. I like the unusual fiddle one, very cool looking |
They are wonderful. What great finds.
|
oooh what beautiful treasures you have there!!!!
I bought two antiques last year.. I have a hand crank one from 1905 and a Featherweight from 1943. I sew on the Featherweight all the time and just love it!!! At the moment I have them both displayed in my sewing room. The hand treadle one I'm not sure if I'll use that one, so I have it displayed with an old crazy patch quilt I made many years ago. I have some bears around it too!!! You have some gorgeous machines there!!!! Enjoy them!! |
