This was a trial for a little wall quilt for a restaurant called The Stone Turtle. The embroidery design has nine framed panels - so the design is broken up. I used Robert Kaufman's design for the sky, Moda batik for the water and I forget who's stone design in the middle. It was framed in a wood grain print.

I'm thinking of stitching it out without the borders so the turtle will come together with pieces meeting, and also cutting the fabric so the water portion is more fluid. Happily it squared up, although it doesn't look it from the photos -- need to steam it down.

Thoughts?

The turtle is totally cute. I love the picture. The only thought I have is to stitch the tree trunks so that they are not cut up. Just a suggestion you requested. Overall, I love your design.

Great job, but I agree that you should try it without the borders so the pictures come together. Take more pictures so you can compare them side by side to see which you like better.

Thanks. I think it would look better with the pieces sewn together without the frame. Now do you think I should try to cut the fabric to make waves and a more uneven rock wall?
