Triangles inspired by Feline Fanatic inspired by BeckySt

when I saw Feline's quilt I fell in love with it. Foolishly I said "oh, that is so simple who needs a pattern?" I got a couple clues from Feline and went to work, making the triangles was easy and fun but I can't tell you how many times I took one or two out to move them and usually made things worse, I see one place I have 4 pinks in a row, they're different but they're all pink! 4 in a row! Well I pulled out plenty of hair and probably will never make it again but I'm not a quiter so it now has a place in line to get quilted.

Honey, you may have less hair because of this quilt, but you did a fantastic job! When I look at it, I think of a summer flower garden. I love the colours and the pattern. It is beautiful!

So lovely. While it may have frustrated you along the way, the end result is beautiful. I love the "movement" of the way your placement of the colors of the triangles creates. For me, my eyes travel along the quilt with a flow. I don't get stopped with distraction of a single focus point,as if something is out of place. I hope that makes sense. Anyway, it is a total package of loveliness. Please be happy and pleased with yourself. Thanks for sharing.

Great top! At least your pinks are all in the border, make one new triangle in a different colour and put it in between the remaining 2 pinks. The block you take out can go on the back for a label or be made into a pillow.

Beautiful! Put your hair back in place and enjoy it!

very striking.....

Oh Kathy, It came out fabulously!! I definitely hear you on the "oh I don't need a pattern to make that." You and I seem to have been cut from the same cloth. Dive in and then realize we are in way over our heads. I LOVE how you solved the issue of it being too narrow by adding the triangle sides like that! I like it much better than the piano key solution I used (which boiled down to I can't bear to make more of these triangles so I am going to take the lazy way out! LOL). Funny thing is that I ended up making more triangles anyway for my back. But I took a 6 month break in between so they didn't seem so bad then and I only had to make around 6 more.
For all the trouble this gave you, you whipped it out in record time! I am so glad you are not a quitter because it would have been a shame to not have this beauty come to fruition. Can't wait to see how you decide to quilt it. |
