Well done!! That is a creative use of chenille on the Circles quilt.

Ok..I'm still scratching my head wondering how'd you do that?? Great work...that chenille thing....wow..
Love the table runner too! |
Gorgeous! :)
Wow, just beautiful!
Denise,
Both of your projects are wonderful but that chenille is to die for! What a wonderful idea. I have a chenille duvet that I don't use any more. I've been saving it and now I know what I've been saving it for! What a great idea! |
I used circles cut from chenille and flannel squares for the inside of the 'window'. I had leftover batting high loft from years ago and had just enough for the quilt. The pattern and directions are from this site http://www.equilters.com/library/jeans/jeans_gallbaros.html. The hardest part was cutting circles from the chenille. This is a self quilting project. I finished at 4:30 on Christmas eve to give to my mother-in-law. Her cancer has come back and I wanted something cozy for her to use. I used an icecream pail lid for my circle pattern.
I think that the table runner turned out beautifully. You need to post a finished picture so that everyone can see how great it is.
Wow!! You really should show off more often!! Those are wonderful!
It is gorgeous.... I love chenile...
Would love to know how you did the chenile circles. In the long ago, I made cathedral windows in the "old fashioned" folded square way, but surely that would be way too much bulk. Beautiful quilt.
Beautiful! You can tell everyone is looking forward to spring with all the vibrant colors showing up lately on the quilts! You did a great job. I am currently working on a quilt like the first one you posted using 30's retro. I like your twist on it with the chennile. Great job! I also love the purples in your table runner!!!!!
they are fvery pretty I love the firt one so bright. Very interesting pattern I may have to try it some day
Love your quilt and table runner!! Very pretty!
oh i found a tute online for one like your chenille but with denim. it's basically a quilt as you go kinda quilt. I have it on my list of things to try and I was thinking a nice cord or chenille would look nice! Thanks for confirming my thoughts! It's beautiful!
I have 400 denim circles cut from old jeans just waiting to be put together.
wow that is a great idea ! do you think it will work with fleece ? i have tons of fleece and don't know what to do with it . dotti
I think fleece would work, I wouln't put any batting in though, the chenille came out pretty stiff with the batting. For a cozier, snuggle blanket you could do fleece for both circle and square. Good luck Denise
Great! What method did you use for this Cathedral Windows quilt? I like it :D
Great quilts! And thanks for the link! I may have to give that a go.
WOW! That is georgeous! Did you make the chenile or buy it? I really like that effect!
Love the Chenile!
I bought the chenille. It was extra wide, I think it was 5 or 6 yards.
OK, I'm  with envy at your talent and skill. Those quilts are gorgeous. I've tried and tried to do a Cathedral Window with smooth cotton and CANNOT master that application...here you're doing it with Chenille! THANK YOU for sharing. I love your quilts.
Stunning....love the quilting it goes so well with this quilt. It is a beauty on the bed
