Look at her go! So sweet to see the younger generation sewing. Unfortunately, by the time you learn to thread a needle, then your eyes go!

I remember having to thread the needle for mom brings back memories

The needle eyes are getting smaller, too! (I'd swear this is true!!!)

I must have looked like that when I learned how to sew on my grandmother's treadle. I was in 5th grade doing a 4-H project - the apron!

So good to have young ones that want to learn to quilt or sew.

I made one of those aprons. White with pink roses. then modeled at the end of the year show.

The way I thread my needles-----
Cut thread, blunt cut making sure there are no wild threads.
Hold the thread between your thumb and forefinger, now pull the thread down from the bottom until there is only a slight dot of thread showing.
Set the eye of the needle down on the dot,
BARELY roll your thumb and finger open while setting the eye down on the thread, now roll your thumb and finger UP, catching the thread. As you pull the thread up, you pull the needle down and I bet you the needle will be threaded. I've done it so many times I don't even have to look. lol
No poking at the eye four or five time.

What a sweet photo. You are making beautiful memories.

Love to see the next generation of quilters with the earlier generation sewing machines. This is a photo to frame.
I put a piece of paper with a bright color behind the eye of the needle so I can see the eye.

thank you all, she is the apple of my eye. I sure hope that she will remember the days that her and i sew , when she is older. When i took her home that day she told me she had fun.
