Really like the tulips :-D My next project will probably be a lap quilt for my mother. I was thinking about spools of thread alternated with another block... tulips would be so cute with those.

nice use of scraps. How did you do the scalloped scrap border ?
I talked to you before about your avatar sunbonnet sue. My sunbonnet sue is growing at a rapid pace - we just found out that we're being blessed with a grandaughter in Dec -- guess some divine intervention was going on.

Both are too cute Polly. That string quilt is so gorgeous. My goodness, what you did with scraps.

The fish is so precious. What a nice thing to do

Dianemarie, when I am bored, or trying to decide what to work on next, it sit and sew strips together. Sometimes foundation pieces, sometimes not. This was a long strip that was 6" wide - I used a ruler to cut the scallops, sewed the scallops to a foundation, clipped and turned, and then top stitched it on the polka dot border. If you have the strips already made this border goes fast and easy.

I am saving my Sunbonnet Sue for a great granddaughter. I have 1 GD and 9 GSs and 1 GGS, surely there will be a GGD eventually! If not they can save it for a GGGD!
