Tumbling Jacks Quilt
2 Attachment(s)
I finally get to post pictures of a quilt I tested, for designer Brenda Plaster at http://spoolandbobbinquilting.com/
I have been waiting not so patiently to see it in my Connecting threads email. It is now available at https://www.connectingthreads.com/tu...lt-kit/p/97233 so now I can show everyone! Brenda only requires me to purchase my own fabric so I usually end up with a totally different fabric line than what it was originally designed with, but it is good to see a pattern in other colors. After I finish it she very kindly quilts it for me and does an awesome job. This is my version of Tumbling jacks that can be found at Connecting Threads. My DH picked the fabric for the cabin we will be building next year in WI. I still need to get the binding on this one but the weather up here has been so warm that I have a hard time playing with fabric. Hope you like the pattern as much as I did, it was a fun one to make, I learned a lot about how things get to the printed pattern and kit stage. |
Great quilt and pattern!

Very pretty quilt and quilting.
|
Very nicely done, and pretty colors
|
Your design is beautiful and you have put a lot of thought and work into its development. Congratulations on this quilt. It looks as though it was well worth the wait to see in in Connecting Threads and now be able to show it off. Job well done. Thanks for sharing.

Gorgeous quilt. Love the fabrics and the pattern

That quilt is beautiful. Thanks for sharing it with us. What an honor it must be to be selected to make a test quilt for a pattern designer. Just curious as to how one gets to be a test quilter for new patterns. It will look beautiful in your cabin.

Getting to be a tester was a little bit of divine intervention in my life. I was working at Joann’s as a cashier and since I had a very regular schedule, I tried to get to know my regulars so I could great them by name when I saw them. One of my regulars came in and needed a quick fabric she mentioned that it was for a test quilt that she had to get done by the next week and I had made a comment that I did testing for American test kitchen and it was fun to be involved in testing. A few months later when she was in again for more fabrics for another test she asked if I had any interest in testing so I gave her my info. After a few emails with Brenda, she asked me if I would like to review and test a pattern last June. I have since quit working so to spend more time with my 89 year old mother, which hasn’t worked out with the covid-19 and my chemo treatments. |

Wonderful quilt
|
Really pretty. I can also see it being done as a scrappy with diff color jacks and the same "chains"
|
Beautiful quilt and pretty fabric choices for the design. It's great to know the pattern has been tested first.

I can see why you are a quilt design tester. I envy your skills. The points are amazing.

Thank you, I cheated and sewed from the opposite side and adjusted the Sean allowance so they would match.😁

You have had quite a journey this year and because of COVID likely a lack of emotional support and that all important physical contact. Oh, the lessons you have learned! Now, as you return to what was your previous reality, you can be the one to encourage others. We always want something new when we move into a new home and you are ready with a beautiful quilt with a strong story.
