I agree with the others...it is gorgeous! Love those colors--two of my favorites when put together!

CharlotteO 10-20-2012 04:25 AM

beautiful quilt. If I could make it, it would certainly go in a show. Great Job.

ArtsyOne 10-20-2012 05:14 AM

Please do try blocking it if only because it will make you feel better. The swath of flowers across the pieced pieces is such a wonderful idea and it looks absolutely stunning. Your applique work is perfect, as are your color choices and the quilting. All around a beautiful and unique quilt.

BeckySt 10-20-2012 05:24 AM

Wow, that is absolutely gorgeous! Great job.

I totally agree with Tartan on this.

wow, I'm totally flabbergasted over your comments.
Thank you all so very much, you're making me feel proud as a peacock now!!!!!!!

I'll try to answer some or the question here'
Tinker, I suppose you're referring to the patterns of the flowers.
They're indeed combined.
When you go to http://www.needlenthread.com/2011/04...g-culture.html you can find where you can download the four booklets with old turkisch patterns I used.

MTS: the border was a fabric from the same line, so I bought it all together.......

Mavis: The fabric is stonehenge magnolia from northcott, for the flowers I used different fabrics I already had in my stash

Jacky Spencer; I combined different very old existing patterns and made my own layout with them...as you can see in my answer to Tinker

So far for the questions.
I now know why the quilt doesn't hang straight.
The right-topcorner is a bit higher than the left one, not very noticable when it lies down but hanging on a rod it pushes the right side of the quilt down.
So I won't hang it, but maybe, next year I bring it in for the quitshow.
That is held in a furnitureshop, so they do have beds and sofa's they can put the quilts on!!!

Thanks again for your kind reactions!!!!!!

I would give you a blue ribbon for sure! Colors are perfect in contrast and it all is gorgeous!

debcavan 10-20-2012 06:46 PM

It is gorgeous. Have you steamed it. I use a big piece of insulation board that is covered with fabric. Steam it flat and then it dry in place until cool. Then do another part overlapping a little.

Mizgoodie 10-20-2012 08:13 PM

Way to go! It's beautiful!

katkat1946 10-21-2012 05:50 AM

This is exquisite!!! What a huge shame that you don't feel you can enter it in a show - are you sure???? I don't think I've ever seen such delicate applique. Your coloring is lovely; those touches of deeper pink and green add so much. The blocks surrounding the flowers are a perfect complement to the flowers in the center.

JoanneS 10-21-2012 06:55 AM
