When I was putting this quilt together I had several "old time" quilters tell me this wasn't really an irish chain. The background was not a traditional background. Well the quilt now hangs in my great room and I have had many compliments on it and it still looks like an irish chain pattern to me. This quilt is an example of why I love quilting - you can make up your own rules as you go along.

It really doesn't matter if it is traditional or not. I love the colors!!!

Meh...I think it's the technique more than the fabric that makes it "what it is". No, the fabric is not traditional, but I WOULD call it an irish chain. AND I WOULD call it FABULOUS!!! :D
