Twin quilts for twin boys

3 Attachment(s)
Here are the 2 quilts I made for my friend's twin boys. I used the same fabric, just different combinations for the twisters, different pairings for the borders and different backs. Sort of like her identical twins, started from the same "fabric", but developed slightly differently. Done in nice comfy flannel, stitched next to the ditch and tied too.
Can you tell which quilt is which?

Really beautiful quilts - what a nice idea to make them the same but different.

Oh so darling! My quilt club made me quilts for my twins back in the 70s. I didn't know they were going to be two babies, so they had to make me a second quilt! LOL!

Both are very pretty. Good idea to make them a bit different. Great job!

How great! My very first quilts were for my twin grand-daughters. I really like your description, "identical twins, started from the same "fabric", but developed slightly differently"! That is the way I made mine too, but I didn't think of eloquent words to describe what I'd done!

wraez 01-30-2013 01:16 PM

Yes, I think the same but different quilts for twin boys is a great idea. They'll be well loved!

They look great. They will be able to tell them apart, yet they are "the same". Wonderful job.
