I am lucky enough to have a friend who has twins. The girls are 4 1/2 years old. I didn't have any girls, so this is especially nice for me. I get to sew for them. "Santa" brought the girls each a jumper. It was a fun project.

Just finished outfits for Chinese New Year. They have an appointment Thursday at the photographers, for CNY cards, so we got them done a little early. I also made them reversible, with Valentine fabric. As you can see from the photo, I made them so the rats are wrapped around the dresses, so when they stand together, there is one whole rat. The idea was spawned after the dog dresses, my son's idea. Had to try it out, hope the phtotgrapher can make it work when they are in them!

NIFTY !! I like both sets.
Do we get to see a picture after the appointment thursday,of the little girls in their dresses? |
Very cute! I have a little tyke who's nearly 2, she'd love these -- heck, *I* love these! lol
Where did you get the chocolate/heart Valentine fabric? It would be perfect for a project I have.... rf |
Very mod.... why don't you use your talent and make more to sell.... they would go like hot cakes !!! I like them very much.
|
They are just too cute, love the fabrics!! What a great job you did. Thanks for sharing. :D
|
I won't be able to post a picture until I get one from my friend, and then only if she gives me permission to post a picture of her kids. I would never put a picture on line of someone else's kids unless it was okay with them.
The valentine fabric came from a local quilt store. I don't remember the maker, but I'll try to find out. M |
These dresses are adorable!
My Mom would have loved to have you for her best friend- I'm a twin. She did the dress different but the same thing. In other words, the dresses were the same, but different colors. |
I think we'll do this as long as the twins let us. I'm their Auntie M (honorary title) but as different as those two little girls are, I suspect they won't put up with us for too long. They'll want their own thing. They think we're dorks, then when they're 30 or so, they'll think we're cool again.

|
Those are adorable! I love them! I bet the girls looked little angels in them!
|
These are absolutly wonderful> just made a jumper like this one in the standard velvet but this surpasses any jumper I've seen. Where did you get the fabric. Particularly the piece with the japanes(chines) writing. My garandaughter is Chines an is turning three. She was adopted at the age of 10 mos. from China.

I just did a google search for the fabric and found plenty of entries. "Bow-wow Chow Mein" is the title if you want to look for it.

Oh, my! I just looked at the proofs of the twins in their outfits! Too cute! I asked Mom if I could post a pic when I get one, and she said it was okay! So, in a couple of weeks, I'll be able to share how great the little dresses look on the little twins!
M |
Yea! :D :D

Today, I made the twins a present for Chinese New Year. Actually, I bought them a present, but it needed a box. So, I took a Chinese food "take out" box and made a pattern.
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a1...s/IMG_4108.jpg Then I made the boxes. Here they are with the "rats" (they're puppets) in them. http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a1...s/IMG_4110.jpg |
2 cute 4 words. :-)
|
Here they are in the Chinese New Year dresses. This is a little early for the actual new year, but couldn't wait to share!!!

Ohhh my goodness!! That is an absolutely wonderful pic!!! They are beautiful girls! The jumpers just worked out perfectly! You are one talented "auntie" , I agree with one of the other posts. You could make a fortune selling those! I know my girls would love them. They are 2 years apart, but they just love to dress alike.
|
Thank you so much, J! They really are fun to sew for, especially since their mother about turns herself inside out when I give them something. It's so nice to be appreciated!!!
M |
