These are a couple of the quilts that I have made as donations to a local children's cancer hospital. Just wanted to share with fellow quilters.

These are beautiful. Great job!!

I love the setting on the first one. You have the secondary design of those two stars.
Both are wonderful. It is so kind of you to do these. When my son is in the hospital, we take our quilts, It brightens that room up. |
Oh, those are really cute! Thanks for sharing them.

I like the star effect in the first one, that doesn't appear when you use set-up strips!
|
I printed them out; I see the secondary start pattern. I really like them ! You were really quick ~

NIce.Very nice. I love making tilted blocks.Fun aren't they

These are lovely. They will definitely bring smiles and comfort to those receiving them. Wonderful job. Thank you for sharing.

The pattern was out of a magazine that I has seen, so i just cut my center blocks the size I wanted them to be, usually 6 inches works well, then cut strips of plain fabric about 3 inches wide and 7 1/2 inches long, cut diagonally and sew onto each side of the 6 inch square. Then you will need to square those squares up sothat a quarter inch seam allowance is at the narrowest corner of the block. I make a drawing of my quilt when I make the stars. Make the top left hand block first and work across the quilt adding each block as I go to make the star, if I don't then I get confused as to which block is next if I have a pile as the diagonal strip has to be just right to make the star.
I do enjoy making these quilts, they are fun. |
That first one really strikes my fancy in design and color. Nice job on both of them.
|
Very cute
|
I like them both! Each is beautiful.
|
Beautiful work!
|
Oh, I like that. What's the pattern? I've tried to do this without a pattern and haven't been successful. What's my problem? OK, just read your post. Thanks, I'll have to try your method. I think I always cut my strips too short.
