I have been lurking mostly reading everyone elses comments.
Someone mentioned a Twister Ruler (by Ck designs). They
gave me a link to Heartlight Quilt shop. I finally got it and
this is what I did. The first picture is just charm squares. 24 of them sewn together. When you cut them using this ruller they
come out like pinwheels. See second picture. Sorry for the pins.
I will quilt it tommorrow. But wanted to share. Also thank you
to whoever mentioned it.

Very nice. I saw this demo at a quilt show last fall. Fast, interesting technique.

I have the template just have to use it. love your quilt

clem55 11-24-2010 06:45 AM

Do you really sew squares together like that and then cut it up? I must look into this!

barbsmith 11-24-2010 06:58 AM

I've got to put this pattern on my Christmas List! Beautiful.

twinkiedog 11-24-2010 07:20 AM

yes I just took a pack of charm squares and sewed
them together. It was so easy it took me only a
couple of hours total with borders and all. It was so
fun that I got so excited I had to share with everone.
Even went to the quilt shop and shared. They are now
going to buy the rulers and books for the shop. Was
glad I could help promote the idea it is so fun to do.

thequilterslink 11-24-2010 08:30 AM

trying to find a site to see the ruler, can't seem to locate one, anyone have a link?

irishrose 11-24-2010 08:34 AM

Love it!

laureneberhard 11-24-2010 08:55 AM

Wow, a ruler for this....I made one many many moons ago, but without a ruler. I'll bet it would have gone much faster with a new tool! good job

quiltluvr 11-24-2010 08:56 AM

Here's a link that shows how it's done:

The ruler comes in two sizes. Here's a link for the smaller one for sale. I've ordered fabric online from here before. Great shop.

Here is a picture of the template or ruler whatever you call it.
Also a pictue of the quilt on the front of the book. It is CS designs, www.country-schoolhouse.com (715-398-0150)
is the one who designed this. Hope this helps. I had so much
fun doing it.

cwessel47 11-24-2010 09:20 AM

Cute-I think those are so neat. I gotta do one soon

smitty 11-24-2010 08:19 PM

great quilt ! always surprised by how well they turn out. don't buy the small ruler--just too small, unless you are doing baby quilt.

Fayelh 11-26-2010 04:03 PM

Gosh, what a transformation.

I really like your tablerunner! I have both the small and large twister but haven't tried them out yet. Thanks for the motivation!
