That seems like a really smart idea to me Patty and I'll probably do the same. People all like different lengths for different uses. My daughter likes to wear hers with the strap over her neck and the purse down at the side just below her hip. That's a 44 inch strap!

Thanks for all the nice comments. The corduroy purse turned out to be a very cozy looking and feeling purse. Perfect for the chillier weather... not that she's going to wear it.. LOL!

I just love the corduroy one! I'm very partial to paisley ;)

Whew! I can see that the brown corduroy paisley is a hit! :)
Don’t know if this would be of interest, but I found another really pretty cotton corduroy paisley that looks like it has great colors and would make a very pretty tote. It is being offered on eBay:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/P-Kaufmann-C...item5628d68957
It costs $15.00 per yard  But... (rationalization to follow....) it is 54" wide, so one yard would make 2 or 3 totes, with leftovers.
Here's a picture:

Love that paisley. Drat, I see you've had it a while. Guess I won't try to find it, lol! Thank you for sharing, I haven't seen this pattern before.
