Two Christmas Stockings
3 Attachment(s)
Recently married nephew and wife wanted stockings to go along with the tree skirt and the table topper I had made them for their wedding, so here is what I came up with. They are young people of deep faith and wanted to honor that. I had some false starts and finally asked my 12-year old DGD for her help. She designed the man's. I chose the fabric and went with it. They are no-frills and low glitz so this was a challenge as I usually have sparkles and other things on the stockings.
Learned many things, one of which was watch where the stocking is placed when you start to cut another part! Did a stained-glass design and scrapped that, so do you think these will work and that the mission was satisfactorily accomplished? |
So cute, you do great work.

I have a Cricut that I used for scrapbooking before quilting attacked me. I have read that you can use it to cut the letters, but my deep cut blade and my mats are well used. So I just cut the templates out and then traced around them on the wrong side of fabric that had been bonded to Heat and Bond. Then I cut them out. Took a while. Heather's name is blanket stitched on. On Travis', I applied them and pretty much soaked them with Fray Block. They probably will be seldom washed and they seemed to have a good bond and the fray check didn't let them fray so I just went with that. I will get some new equipment hopefully for the baby another niece is having in the spring and will try to cut the letters out on the cricut. That would be the best for sure.
