Two Christmas Throw Quilts

4 Attachment(s)
I made only about half of the blocks in these two quilts. The rest were made by other ladies in my quilting group. The first one is a QAYG with blocks quilted individually, and the second one has been quilted with an allover big stipple.

Very pretty Christmas quilts. They look like the perfect size...what size? I wish I made more seasonal things. QAYG is on my list of things I want to learn. Thanks for sharing.

nicely done

RedGarnet222 11-06-2017 08:51 AM

How over the top christmasy! I just love that poinsettia block in the first one. These would be so fun to use.

Boston1954 11-06-2017 08:52 AM

Lovely. They look so warm and comfy. Makes me want to watch an old movie and drink hot chocolate.

JuneBillie 11-06-2017 09:44 AM

Those are very pretty throws with all the Christmasy fabrics.

Both are very pretty. I have some Christmas fabric I want to make up. Maybe one day I will do it.

Measured for you... The one with the red sashing is 42" x 57". The QAYG is only slightly smaller.

Thanks everyone, for your wonderful comments. We used up a lot of small pieces of Christmas fabrics this way.

Very nice, SBG....do you have plans for them?

Yes, they will be donated to the hospital for Christmas distribution...bringing joy to those who can't be home for Christmas.

So glad you shared these pictures. I have two Christmas fabric sampler quilts (both set like your second one) that I need to quilt and have been trying to decide how. Now I think I will go w/an all over big stipple because it looks great, both quilts do. Thank you!

Mariposa 11-06-2017 08:24 PM

Festive quilts! Nice of you to donate to others~ :)

Beautiful quilts. I want to do something with my Christmas fabrics but am thinking of a disappearing 9-patch. Simple pattern that my Granddaughter can help sew.

Those quilts just scream Christmas.

WOW !! Lots of work....they look awesome

ArtsyOne 11-08-2017 04:05 AM

I love looking at the individual blocks - you've done a great job coordinating them all and the all-over stipple is perfect.

southernmema 11-08-2017 04:35 AM

These are great! Makes me want to start my Christmas music!:)

They’re both gorgeous, Sewbiz! I like the modern layout of the first, but then again I also like the traditional colorways of the second. The colors in the second one remind me of a book/magazine we used to have around at Christmas time back in the late 60’s or early 70’s- I can’t for the life of me remember what it was called....
