Great quilt! Love your fabrics. My SIL had made one for me, and I've always wanted to make one myself...and with your link now I can. Thanks!

Great work. I also have made this following the link she gave. It is super easy and turns out so pretty and looks harder than what it is.
|
Very nice, you did a great job.

That looks so easy & makes a great table mat. Thanks for posting, I'm headed to the sewing room now to try it.

Funny...I did not follow the tutorial's binding instructions; in fact, I never read that far! I do know that Beth [the tutorial instructor] likes to do all binding by machine. I do mine half using the machine and the other half by hand.
For my projects, I machine sewed the binding to the front, then turned and hand stitched it down on the back. As I sew, I stop the machine when it came to an angle, 1/4 inch away from the edge. Leaving the needle down, I raise the presser foot and pivot the quilt and the binding so that the quarter inch edge of my foot is once again lined up with the edge of the quilt and binding. Keep going this way all around. When I turn the binding to the back and come to the angle edge, I just made a little tuck and stitched it down. Here are two pictures to show how it looks. [I hope this makes sense. If I doesn't, do another reply and I will post pictures of the binding in process...I have another mat in process!] On the back On the front |

Nice. I like them.

Thank you sew much for the link. I was in search of a Thanksgiving swap gift and I made it in one hour along with 2 mug rugs to match. I just have to pick up fabric for the binding. I also cut one out for my dd for her Thanksgiving dinner. I'll post photos when I am finished. I'm very pleased with this table topper. And yours is beautiful. Love the fabric choices.
