Finished these two I Spy strip quilts I have shown previously as just tops. I used some of the blocks to make matching pillows. Hope you like!

Cute quilts and pillows! I love the space monkeys backing! Don't you wish you had an I Spy quilt when you were little? I know I do.

Great kid's quilts!

This is the best looking I Spy quilt I have ever seen. I'm collecting some material to create an I Spy, but I was going to just make blocks, 6 and 1/2 inch. It sure looks rather sad in comparison to this one. And I LOVE the pillows!!! Now I have to go find a pattern like that. LOL

Patti, most of my I Spy quilts are squares too... I just happened to have a bunch of strips left over after cutting all those squares for I Spys for charity. So I pieced the strips and cut 60 degree triangles and put them together as hexagons. Very easy, actually. The strips were mostly all WOF-- about 42". It didn't matter if they were 2" wide or 4.5" wide. Just sew them together then cut the triangles. (I made half triangles to fill in between the hexes along the sides.) Here is what my usual I Spys look like... just 5" squares: |
Very interesting fabric and design.

This is THE BEST I-Spy quilt I've seen. Mine have always been more of the generic type you've shown on your latest picture. Thanks SO much for sharing how you did it:) I'm seriously going to have to try to make this:)
