Two More Donation Quilts from Leaders/Enders

6 Attachment(s)
These are #7 and #8 from my Rail Fence leader/ender donation project--this time, Batiks with black and uneven rails: one in a stairstep and one in a windmill layout. There are some pretty homely fabrics in there, but taken as a group, they are okay. :)

paintmejudy 03-14-2018 05:03 PM

Angelia, more beautiful scrappies from your sewing studio. Beautiful quilts.

jmoore 03-14-2018 05:15 PM

Wonderful donation quilts...I love your leaders/enders projects. I am so happy I adopted a L/E outlook a year or so ago.

Judith1005 03-14-2018 05:58 PM

Absolutely stunning. Your work with scraps and strings is just incomparable. I look forward to seeing all the scrappy's you post.

Tweety2911 03-14-2018 06:50 PM

I had batiks like some of yours and gave them away because I didn't like it and now I see what you did with yours and I love them! Bless you for you generosity! Quilts will be so appreciated by the receivers.

greaterexp 03-14-2018 07:08 PM

They’re beautiful! Wonderful use of color!

copycat 03-15-2018 02:31 AM

You did an Amazing job on your quilts...reminds me of the look of stain glass windows. Thanks for sharing!

DebraK 03-15-2018 05:01 AM

You did a great job with both quilts. Beautiful donations.

Homespun 03-15-2018 05:03 AM

Those patterns worked great with your fabrics!

sprice 03-15-2018 05:36 AM

wonderful quilts. these should be on the Scrappy Quilts Show thread.

sewnclog 03-15-2018 06:12 AM

Homely? A Batik? I don't see a single one; it's beautiful!

solstice3 03-15-2018 08:54 AM

Like them both but love the first one

RuthiesRetreat3 03-15-2018 10:30 AM

Love these. The black really sets up the colors to pop without them being overwhelming. I think without the blac stripe the colors would melt together and not have the impact they have with the black stripe. Great job!

Jules51 03-15-2018 02:47 PM

2 more delightful, scrappy quilts!

marjben 03-15-2018 06:40 PM

Yeah, I see a couple that I agree are a bit not beautiful, but each quilt as a whole is fantastic!

love to sew 03-15-2018 07:21 PM

great use of scraps, can't decide which one I like better, they are both beautiful.

BrendaK 03-15-2018 10:20 PM

Super. Both are wonderful. BrendaK

javin22 03-16-2018 02:21 AM

I have never seen one like that before. That is really interesting. Great Job!

SusieQOH 03-16-2018 02:51 AM

Oh how beautiful!!!!!!!!!

wildyard 03-16-2018 11:25 AM

just curious about the size of each rectangle in your blocks... Love them both but especially the second one. I have a lot of scraps left from the last 2 quilts I made and think they would make a great quilt like yours.

AngeliaNR 03-16-2018 02:44 PM

The blocks are 4.5" x 4.5" unfinished. Batiks are cut at 3.5" x 4.5"--black at 1.5" x 4.5". Both quilts use the same block--only the layout is different.

RedGarnet222 03-17-2018 11:08 AM

These are wonderful winter quilts to work on so bright and cheerful!

patsan 03-17-2018 12:18 PM

I love those bright colors!

Ukinusa 03-20-2018 03:07 AM

Wow, they are wonderful. Think Id probably have to hang onto one of them :)

Grandma Peg 03-20-2018 11:07 AM

Really like both quilts. Scrappy quilts are the best.
