I love both of them! Very pretty!
They are both gorgeous! I too like batiks, but know they must be used correctly to be effective.
Dancing with bats makes me smile! Both pieces are wonderful :)
Very Nice- I have not really been a fan of batiks but recently found a fall pattern with pumpkins and leaves that I purchsed and have been collection the batiks I thought would look good for fall. I think we have to get there in our minds first.
And yes yours have added to my like of batiks ! Happy Quilting ~ |
They are both gorgeous and I love the creative job on the dancing with bats. Wonderful!
I always feel redundant adding my delight and admiration to pictures like this, but as a fellow batik lover, I can't resist. Love the stars! I'm also one who prefers to just do it from a picture, rather than follow pattern unless it's really difficult to decipher. Halloween pic is adorable, too! Hope you're in PinkLotus' batik block exchange - I'd love something of yours!

Your quilts are beautiful. I have used very little batiks. IMHO, the earlier batiks were sometimes muddy/murky looking. To this day, I'm still somewhat concerned about the dyes running. Have used a touch of batiks here and there, especially something with a fern or leaf pattern to it as an accent fabric.
Looking at your first quilt could change my opinion completely. The colors (and pattern) are so bright, happy and warm. You've made me a "believer" !!! |
Beautiful, both of them! Can't wait to finally have time to dig into my huge stash of batiks. I do open the cabinet and look at them every now and then just to make sure they are still there.
Love your quilt, great choice of colors. |
Stars on Parade looks like stained glass! Very pretty. Dancing with Bats...how CUTE! Great job.
Lovely quilt! I am not sure but I seem to remember the 'Dancing with bats'? Perhaps I saw something similar but I think that that is such a 'spooktacular' wall hanging!! Love the way it seems to glitter and shine! Lovely!

Great job! I love batiks also.
I love them both!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am at a loss for words after seeing the second one. The first was so gorgeous and wonderful and the second is gorgeous and unusual and just plain wonderful too. I am having a hard time moving on to see another quilt. I think it is the sparkle. I have never seen sparkle in a Halloween quilt. I think it just makes the quilt wonderful.
This is the first time I have seen someone else post that wonderful pattern Star of the Orient! I just love it in batiks. I have made two of them - but not batik. Got those creative juices flowing. Thanks!
Marvelous!!! Like you, I love batiks. I have been pondering batik star quilts for DGSs for Christmas. I have even considered that same star. what a coincidence!!
Love them both!
