Two New Finishes

The first quilt is from blocks from the last Boom Swap. It's a lap quilt.

The second one (red) was made from a b&w panel I've had for years before figuring out what to do with it. It's totally "me"!

Cute quilts!

Love the Boom quilt and must say you received some awesome blocks from your fellow Boomers! You've certainly mastered the QAYG method and your Juki is serving you quite well! Love your quilting motif. It's marvelous :)

And your Red, White and Black quilt is super, too! Lovely work, as always :)

That city quilt is just stand up and shouts at you. I like the backing for the 1st one too. Really great quilts.

I like the front and back of the Boom quilt. The second one turned out beautifully!

Gorgeous! Love both but the panel quilt is a great art piece -- that red door is fabulous!

If the black and white quilt is you, the paisley quilt is me. I love paisley. I incorporated a few blocks of red paisley in a nine-patch I'm sewing this week. Great quilts!

I agree with Christine (themerklefamily)...you have certainly mastered the QAYG method and love the quilted leaves in your green border.

I love the b&w quilt with the red accent. Terrific job on both.

Both are great.

Terrific finishes! I love how you did the back of the first one.
Your quilting is lovely!!!

RedGarnet222 04-30-2019 07:48 AM

How sweet! Love the row houses.

appleblossom 04-30-2019 10:10 AM

both are pretty!

maryellen2u 04-30-2019 07:49 PM

I really like both quilts! I love paisley too. I have tons of black and white fabric to make a quilt with a spot of red and yours has inspired me. Sorry to be so dumb but I don't know what a Boom quilt is. I love yours! What is a Boom quilt?

BrendaK 04-30-2019 09:26 PM

Both are super. BrendaK

The Boom is a block swap on this board. People trade fabric and make blocks for each other. My fabric was the paisley, and the other swappers added their own coordinating fabric and made a 12.5" block for me. If you look under "Member Swaps" in the Home menu, you can look for the Sooner Boom swap and the Later Boom swap. Sooner just finished and Later is almost done. You can read along the threads to get a good idea of what it is.

Fun projects that made for lovely finishes. The first really has some interesting blocks. I think the cityscape is simply charming. I hope you enjoy your new treasures.

Darcyshannon 05-01-2019 11:28 PM

Great finish on both quilts. Good use of the house fabric.
