Here are two other examples. They are a lil off center and stuff. These were the first two I completed just a couple weeks ago.

There is no cheating in quilting! There are no quilt police either! Anything you can think of and create is perfect, just like the quilts you've posted. Way to go.
I have a bag of hankies and head scarves that I'm going to be looking at with a whole lot of interest now.
Thanks for sharing you work with us.

henryparrish76 12-27-2007 12:44 PM

Awww thank you so much

henryparrish76 12-27-2007 12:45 PM

I have some head scarves as well but they are really thin and I am trying to figure out how I can use them in a quilt similar to my hankie quilt.

henryparrish76 12-27-2007 03:26 PM

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll give that a try and see if that helps.

Celeste 12-27-2007 07:24 PM

Y'know, I like the first one best - the soft colors and how the first and third are a little longer. It makes it MUCH more interesting!

Kyiav10 12-27-2007 07:26 PM

They are great!! Keep up the good work. Kyia

henryparrish76 12-27-2007 07:28 PM

Thank you nanabirdmo. Purple is my favorite color so I decided to do a quilt in purple. I like it too ust wish i had been able to center it a lil more correctly/

Henry:
Your work is wonderful! You will get better with each project and with each project you'll be surprized at how much you learn. I've been quilting about 6 years and I'm not what I consider a good quilter yet but I keep striving for greatness. It may not happen but in the journey I'm making some nice gifts! I also want to comment on your desire to continue the quilting tradition in your family. We live in such a fast moving, electronic world it's wonderful to hear that someone WANTS to preserve the "old" ways. Keep up your great work.

I love the one with the butterfly. I had a tear in the fabric when I first started quilting (I didn't sew close enough to the 1/4) and it pulled when I started quilting. So I took a small bumble bee applique that you'd put on a childs dress and covered the hole. Used black yarn to make swirls like a bee in motion and no one was the wiser. Except for you now. And the hundreds of people who will read this. LOL Beautiful job. I bet your Grandmothers so very proud.

snicker dee 03-28-2011 02:40 AM

Great job!!!!

QM 03-28-2011 02:43 AM

Good work. Using the butterfly is not cheating. It is intelligent design.
