Love your quilt. I think there is a similarity between fabric and Thanksgiving leftovers. You spend all your time and energy on either the big event quilt or meal, then there are all these leftovers. So then you take the leftovers (from both) and make them into something else either edible or useful. The turkey you can eventually throw, but fabric seems to live on and on. I think there is a conspiracy under my own roof and the fabric is multiplying in my storage bins like rabbits.
