I have had some triangle Spiderweb blocks sitting in a box leftover from my big Spiderweb quilt. These are the ones that I started out sewing wrong with no seam allowance at the points. I got them out yesterday, picked out one side and repositioned the edge and trimmed them all down. I have sewn them together into a 30X38 top. I think I might add a film strip border all around in 2 inch sewn in size. Here is where I am at and this is the alternate arrangement for Spiderweb blocks that I saw Bonnie Hunter do.

Opps, no seam allowance at the points so I picked out one side and moved them over and trimmed them all down

What a fantastic use for your extra spiderweb pieces. A film strip border would be perfect...

Good save...pretty quilt!

Great way to reuse scraps. Don't you know, however that the scraps will win? At night, they multiply and divide.

orangeroom 10-25-2016 08:22 AM

Oh, that has movement! Tricky pattern whether you focus on the back and forth of the strips or the black stars that pop! Nice either way!

Yes, Bonnie Hunter is a genius... even with the simplest of things. I like her alternate spiderweb setting.

I read that one of her offset settings came about because her dog Sadie walked across the blocks she had laid out on the floor, skewing them a bit. A new design was born. Thank you Sadie!

Very cool! I love the pattern. It is amazing the variations you can get by turning a block

kaylfordsollimo 10-30-2016 06:44 PM

I like the scrappy look with the black background.

L'et's see....You had beautiful fabric and saved the scraps. Sewed the scraps into beautiful fabric, some got used and some were scraps. You took those scraps, altered the cut and made more beautiful fabric and used that to make this gorgeous quilt? Wow. Bonnie Hunter move over, we have a new Queen of Scraps, and she reigns on our land of the Quilting Board. Heil, Queen Tartan. You are a genius. Thanks for sharing, you have us all re-thinking our scraps and UFO's.......Jane Quilter
