with backing with one border? with a stopping strip border? Well, the OW Q top is done. Now which way to finish the border? What does everyone like! The finished size does not matter in this one. It will be about 75" sq. when complete If there are any alternate suggestions I would appreciate them too! thanks for looking. peace |
I like the bottom pic and would bind with the same pink. Gorgeous quilt! Love your fabrics.
bottom picture or if you have enough of the backing it would make a nice border it realy picks up your colours
I love the quilt. I like the last one also and would probably bind with the same pink or maybe a little darker.
Love it, maybe one of the medium pinks as the first border, then the light one and finish with the dark one you posted as a stopper in the last picutre?
MMM, I like it...my choice would be a wide burgandy border.
keep it simple so as to not detract from this great quilt
I also like the creamy border in the last picture, and would use the darker pink as the binding. Or, if you don't have enough of that, use the floral for the binding. That would also look good. The quilt itself is absolutely lovely and the floral right next to it would take away from the basic design, but it could look very good with a wide border between it and the binding.

the last one
If you had enough of your HST left over I think a border of them in a width to match your pattern would be out of thisi world!
I love the second border! The darkest fabric and lightest always creates a nice border.. its like a picture matting. FYI - your quilt has made me rethink my dislike of pink. I am now obessed with getting the scraps to make a similiar.
I like the backing fabric and the second pic with the small pink and white border. Its a beautiful quilt.
Wow!! absolutley beautiful.
I think flying geese in a first or second border would be nice too.
i like the stopping strip one, but i'd also bind it in that same strip color.
I love the last picture. That little stripe of pink/burgendy is just enough to stop your eye before the border.
Yes, definitely use a stopper border like you have in the picture, or even a bit darker if you can (for visual appeal).
How about a few pieced sailboats in the large border, or at the corners?:) LOVE this quilt! Jan in VA |
I like the second picture with the stopper strip and I would do mitered corners. Mitered corners are not my favourite to sew but in your quilt I think it would be nice to follow the diagonal effects of the quilt body. Love it!
The last one. The backing fabric is perfect for the back, but too busy for a border for this lovely quilt. Definite stopping strip, the light border, then a binding in the same dark pink.
Whatever color you choose will draw out that shade from the interior. I'd try a narrow burgundy strip to stop the pattern and then a wider medium shade for the border. I usually audition several ideas and then sleep on it. I said it before ---I love your quilt!
The last pic with the stopping strip. So glad you finished this UFO ... it was SEW WORTH IT!!!
I like the bottom too. Beautiful! Love, love, love the colors and backing fabric!

oooh...you made so much progress...looks great....i would go with the last borders...another possibility is going with the dark pink as the large border...either way it will look great...keep us posted!
it is just too pretty.....i vote for the stopping strip narrow border - it really seems to set off the quilt so nicely. you did such a beautiful job.
I like the bottom picture, too! :)
I love the bottom one
I can never get enough of pink quilts. Beautiful
