With the above average temperatures this weekend I was able to get back out to the three season room to do some actual quilting. Decided to finish my Orange Submarine Quilt first so I can give it to Project Linus. Found a aqua/blue/navy/teal in my stash for the backing and the orange binding was pulled from my Halloween. It's quilted in a simple ocean wave pattern that I had a little trouble with because using chalk on the navy portion of the quilt kept rubbing off making my waves a little wonky. But this quilt makes me happy, and hoping a little boy will love it too. Only 5 more tops waiting to be quilted when it's warm enough out in the 3 season room.

Cute, cute, cute. I think I recall that one when you were first constructing it. Like the waves. I do that too but I don't chalk line, just go for it. Quick, easy, and perfect for your submarines. Only 5 more to go? You can do it. Little folks are ready for a warm snuggle and a hug from their own quilt.

Congratulations on the finish. Some little boy will love it! I am currently quilting a diagonal grid on a baby/toddler quilt and usually use blue painters tape but tried the guide on my walking foot which isn't as accurate but hopefully will look okay when it is washed. My lines are straight-ish as I struggled with the 45" quilt diagonally. Maybe I should have done waves LOL

What a fun quilt! And the quilting design is perfect. What little boy wouldn’t want to snuggle under that quilt!

I've been using Crayola Ultra-Clean Washable Markers on my Linus quilts, and I really like them. The tips are skinny and wash out when I am ready to donate. I have not had any marks on the quilts after washing them. I also use Elmer's washable glue to baste with, so washing is a must. Plus required by my chapter.
