UFO progress - Border Creek Mystery Quilt 2012
2 Attachment(s)
Well I'm on a roll! I finally completed my 2011 mystery quilt from Border Creek over the weekend, and now I'm getting caught up on the last mystery quilt. I had only completed instalment #4 and had started #5, but that was many months ago.
What I didn't like from the previous years was that I didn't choose my own fabric, this time I chose fabrics that I loved. I just got overwhelmed with must dos and put aside things for me, so this one got left behind for a bit. Oh I love how this is coming together. It's time for border work!! |
Very beautiful work! I just looked up the information to see if the pattern can be purchased. Do you know if they seel it anywhere?
|
I believe that Border Creek Station packages and sells the pattern for their mystery quilts well after the mystery is over. The mystery quilt is something you sign up for through your local shop if they are participating or through a shop that is willing to mail the instalments monthly. I checked their website and saw at least one past mystery quilt available as a pattern.
Our reveal party is in 2 weeks so I am trying hard to get this done. Sign ups are going on now for the new mystery, I am still thinking about it. |
That is beautiful!

Lovely top!

Oh yes indeed, YukonViv ... that is YOUR colours (and mine too!!)
The fabric choices are perfect for the quilt design. You are definitely going to have it finished for the big reveal ... when you love something you are working on, it's easy to move ahead, isn't it? NatalieG ... as YukonViv said, the mystery patterns eventually become regular "For Sale" patterns. This is her way to let the mystery people do a pattern early on. Plus, it adds another level of pattern testing before it goes For Sale. You will find that her patterns are well detailed for choosing your own fabrics (or if doing the mystery, there are always the design fabrics, if you wish to use them). Also, the instructions throughout are well written and easy to follow. Now is the time to get involved in the new mystery quilt. On the Border Creek site, there is a listing of all the stores that represent BC, so take a look and chances are you can find one in your area. |

Thanks everyone, now that it's at this point, my 14 y.o. asked if she could have it. Hmmmm, no. It's mine!

Absolutely love the fabric choices. Awesome quilt.

Striking!! I can see this with a couple of borders and one of them would be the deep rich orange. Please show it again when it is all quilted.
