The young lady, and the quilt is very beautiful. I would have never started out with making a star quilt for my first quilt. I did make one on point, and I don't plan on making another one any time soon. She did a great job, and tell her to keep up the good work. If she is that good now, she might become a quilt teacher or something else in the field.

Thanks, everyone for the wonderful comments. I am so proud of Marisa and so glad she didn't listen to me when I said "are you sure you want to do that? Don't you want to try something easier?' She pieced it on my 1973 Kenmore. When I offered her a brand new machine for graduation she said "No thanks, can I have the Kenmore?" So it's hers now and she loves it because it's "vintage" and it is a real workhorse. She is just a really neat kid and I am so lucky to have her as a daughter and now as a quilting buddy.

Absolutely gorgeous! Very ambitious and very successful!! I still have my 1973 Sears Kenmore and it still stitches beautifully and makes the best buttonholes! Although I do love my new Janome MC6600. :)

Beautiful quilt and beautiful young lady. I love your fabric choices. Can't wait to see your next quilt. Best of luck to you in all of your future endeavors, Marissa.
