So cute! I love it, Kelly. Although I am not into miniature dolls, this looks sooo cute! Surely, Uncle John loves it, too.

How darling!!!!!!!!!!! :D

freezeframe03 08-19-2010 06:00 PM

WOW! It looks great! I thought with all those seams in that quilt that it would never lay nicely on a bed...thought it would be too stiff. I'm amazed. Your tiny tiny work is just beautiful.

SueDor 08-19-2010 06:13 PM

Very cute

rootyr 08-20-2010 02:12 AM

Wow!

KellyPA 08-20-2010 02:46 AM

Thanks everyone.

Well the seam question is a good one. For the border it is the traditional 1/4" seams, but with the rest because of how it is pieced, there really isn't a "standard" seam size. This particular piece was done by Paper Piecing, but I have one I'm working on now that is traditionally pieced.

turtlerouge 08-20-2010 03:06 AM

Hey Kelly, how do you make these? I would like directions, if you don't mind sharing them, please. turtlerouge

Very well done, my friend! I'm sure your uncle is in awe as we are.

GOOD JOB!!!!!!!

twinkie 08-20-2010 03:08 AM

That is simply awesome. I really admire your talent. I would like directions also

mygirl66 08-20-2010 03:31 AM

Awesome job Kelly! Glad he likes it!

KellyPA 08-20-2010 03:53 AM

Turtle and Twinkie

It's just simply paper pieced. You reduce the size of a paper piecing pattern you like and just make it as you would any quilt! No secret or special skills. Anyone can do it!

Twilliebee 08-20-2010 06:37 AM

Oh, Kelly, it's so nice to see the quilt in place! It looks wonderful. He must have been so pleased and touched by your thoughtfulness. Lovely!

littlehud 08-20-2010 08:52 AM

Your quilt is amazing. I saw my first miniature quilts at Paducha last week. They are such special little quilts I don't know how you can keep track of all the tiny pieces.
