Under my needle
3 Attachment(s)
Art quilt under my needle until about 1AM the past few nights. It is Ultrasuede glued to white duck, then satin stitched in place. My poor machine worked hard and long, another night still to go. Meanwhile the background quilt is being quilted and washed then this will be added. Using red, white and blue woven fabric from the American Textile Museum for the background (this is usually for woven coverlets) of this hybrid quilt. Stay tuned.

Looks like a lot of hard work and I will be waiting to see your art quilt when it is finished!

Nice to see your creative process for the art quilt. It looks fun and interesting. Please show us when you finish it. There is a group here that are starting to have shows with their art quilts.

I will be watching too. I am fascinated.

The background in red, white and blue has been quilted and tomorrow I will square it up and get ready for sleeve and binding. Meanwhile I am making sure no white edges are showing on the black applique. Friday I have one more satin stitch (black) to do around the applique before stitching it in place. More to come.
