United States Air force Quilt
2 Attachment(s)
We took my 11 yr old GSo the USAF Museum wed and thursday in Dayton Ohio. Talk about a surprise. There on one of the walls was the most beautiful quilt ever.
Its the 50th Anniversay USAF Quilt it was given to the museum on behalf of the men an woman of the US air force. there are more than 100 handmade squares from every air Force installation throughout the world. Its 20x20 feet. The thread used to join the squares flew aboard the space Shuttle Atlantis on Sept 22 1997 mission. Final assembly took more thean 3 months, including 500 hours to hand embroider the lettering. My picture doesn't do it justice |
That is the exact date, day and year, my oldest was born.
