Trying to find out if anyone knows the name of this quilt block.

I have tried all over the web, but have had no luck. I even have the book 5500 Quilt Block Designs but could not
even find it there. It was posted on Pinterest and thought it was a pretty block, and wanted to find the name.

This is the closest I can get.....

Someone else asked this question about this block, because I saved this exact picture. I had it saved as Prairie Flower, so I typed that into the search box. The original poster said she saw this block on Pinterest, and someone else replied that is looks like a variation of the Prairie Flower (which is probably why I saved it that way). Anyway, the original post was 12/08/12.

Got it!. One of the posters in the original blog said she had made this block in the 90's. Another poster identified the name of the block, and the book it was found in. It is called Painted Daisy. Thimbleberry Beautiful Blocks for Beautiful Quilts by Lynette Jensen.

I added it to my QuiltPro as well. I suspect someone started with weather vane and played a while. From the picture, it is quite clear how it was made/ thanks for sharing.

Per my response to another topic on this block from Dec. 8th:
This was a block (June) from the BOM pattern for A Quilter's Garden. This can be found in the book Big Book of Quilt Blocks, and the block is in Beautiful Blocks for Beautiful Quilts. Both are Thimbleberries by Lynette Jensen. If you Google a preview of Big Book of Quilt Blocks, you can see the blocks and some of the layouts in the book. I believe this is not a free block pattern online, but her books are available for purchase.

I made one of the blocks love the lay out , I call it Star burst. Haven't made a full quilt yet but have the block hanging above my sewing table. LOVE it so it's the next one to buy fabric for.

Beautiful block. Our quilt group makes blocks for one another for Christmas, but after counting the pieces, decided "I don't think so." There are six of us and if I made six blocks, I know I would want to keep them. Just too time consuming but the results would be beautiful.

Me too the name of the pattern and a copy of it.
