Now I have 3 different sets of toppers and runners for the event on the 19th. Might do some pot holders this week.

Completed one for Christmas today and the directions I followed are from the site below. I really like this one.
She includes how she does the binding which works perfect.

final update on table runners for benefit

The runners and mats were put in matching pairs for display for a silent auction. They had a lot of donations to choose from and my runner sets did not get one bid. Do feel bad about that but it looked like a Lot of items did not get a bid, at least half. I made 2 round, 3 layer hot pot mats, they had a bid of $5 so someone liked those.
The food items were selling very well, next time I do a benefit--taking food items for sure.

The dinner and auction brought in nearly $3200 for the family. Just disappointed in the response to so many of the nice hand created things not getting a bid. Someone made several toddler sized sweaters and not a bid on them.
Being in a small farming area the money raised was wonderful.

final result of runners for benefit

My runners were put in as sets in a silent auction. They had a Lot of items to offer. My runners did not even get one bid, my 2 hot pot mats got a $5 bid so they must have been sold. I walked the items offered and at least half did not have a bid. Even the 3 toddler hand knit sweaters did not have a bid.

The meal and food items sold well and the total raised was nearly $3200. It was sad to see so many nice items with no bids but that must be the trend for a lot of lookers and not many buyers.
Next time I do a benefit--take food like pies, cakes or cookies. My caramel corn did well as did the fudge and 4 chocolate coated pretzel rods were left of the 20 taken. At 3pm they put the food items at half off for them to sell.
