I recently came across of these online and was totally intrigued, so I had to start my own (without the book). Yours are very special as you are creating a different secondary pattern in those three big rosettes. I'm still trying to analyse your picture to see how you've done it! This is going to be one amazing quilt!

I didn't buy the book (yet) either I printed the shapes for the paper pieces and studied the pics of the finished quilts, so it can be done. At first I intended to get started and see if I liked the whole process then if I was going to continue to get the book then, after I got going and was doing it w/o I just kinda kept going.

This quilt is the La Passacaglia, it is the featured quilt in a book written by Willyne Hammerstein. Most make it w/ English Paper piecing but it can be done w/ hand straight stitch too.

Jingle 01-29-2016 01:06 PM

I really don't think this quilt is geometrically possible. You must be a miracle worker.

It isn't my design Willyne Hammerstien is the brilliant mind behind the geometry.
